A week before FITUR we received the best of the news, we are finalists to the ITH Smart Destination Awards 2019 in the category of Sustainability!
And how does Iristrace help in Environmental Sustainability? Let us tell you …
Thanks to Iristrace, a companies (in the tourism industry or any other industry) can digitize all its internal processes and eliminate the use of paper. What do we get with this? Reduce emissions and waste thanks to a continuous and parameterized monitoring (even with limits of values out of range) through our tool. In addition, the option to optimize consumption when performing continuous audits, adds value to the preservation of the environment.
When we talk about reduction of paper and consumables there are some numbers that can leave us impressed:
- In a company with 10 employees, they may save up to € 10,000 a year.
- Sheets of paper used by an average company per year: 10,000 units
Thanks to the digitization of processes, on average we could say that each user has gone from using 20 to 30% of their day filling, searching and recovering papers, to invest less than half the time, 100% digitally.
As an example of better waste management and recycling, we find the case of Mallorca in 2013, where a total recovery of 665 tons of used oil was made, which:
- Generated 280 tons of lubricants for the market
- Avoided the emission of 2,000 tons of CO2 … equivalent to the absorption of 378 hectares of trees
- Used oil generated the equivalent of 26.5 GWh of energy sufficient for the consumption of 7,228 medium-sized homes
If what we want is an improvement costs of the company’s operations, we have the clear example in the printers. In the last 15 years, ink and toner prices have skyrocketed. On average, a printer’s toner costs about € 160, as the company grows, more will be needed. However, without using paper, this cost can be reduced to € 0.
Interestingly, the University of Washington & Lee spent 3 days working on the collection of all the data for the audit report (the same as it took to go to the moon in 69). With the digitalization of documents, the time to make the report has been reduced to 30 minutes, the same as what you would take it in going from home to work every day.
We will talk about it at the awards ceremony that will take place on Thursday, January 24, from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm, within the framework of FiturtechY #techYdestino (pavilion 10 stand B05).
